What is Qui Tam and How Does It Apply to Me?

Qui Tam is a provision of the federal False Claims Act allowing citizens to file lawsuits in the name of the U.S. government, alleging fraud by contractors or others receiving government funds. The Qui Tam provision allows the plaintiff — the person filing the suit — to share in the money recovered.

Qui Tam lawsuits have involved defense contractors, as well as employers engaged in business with other agencies of the government, including public universities, Medicare, and Social Security.

If you suspect a Wichita or Sedgwick County employer is engaged in defrauding the government, speak to an experienced lawyer before making any accusations. At Brady & Associates, we can help determine if fraud exists and what options are available to you.
